On behalf of our client, an international agro business company, we are looking for an experienced and proactive professional to fill in the following position: Senior GA Accountant.
Location: Novi Sad, on-site
1. Country SPOC & Coordination
Act as the main accounting contact for the Country CFO and local Finance team.
Ensure effective communication and coordination between SSC and local stakeholders.
Align SSC deliverables with country-specific requirements.
2. General Accounting, Month-End Closing & Tax
Perform and review general ledger activities in line with the monthly closing calendar.
Ensure timely and accurate closing of balance sheet accounts (AP, fixed assets, intercompany, accruals).
Oversee fixed asset accounting: capitalization, depreciation, disposals.
Calculate and post tax-related entries (e.g., VAT) in compliance with local regulations.
Lead intercompany reconciliations and ensure alignment with group policies.
3. Financial Reporting & Analytical Entries
Contribute to monthly financial reporting for business and group stakeholders.
Post analytical reclassifications and adjustments based on inputs from local finance teams.
Ensure consistency and accuracy across all reporting dimensions.
4. Analytical Reviews & Continuous Improvement
Participate in regular financial reviews with Country CFO and Financial Controller.
Identify and support opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and automation.
Candidate Profile:
5–10 years of experience in general accounting or similar roles, ideally in a multinational industrial or agri-food group, or accounting agency.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, intercompany flows, and fixed asset processes.
Experience in a Shared Services Center or matrix organization is a strong advantage.
Excellent knowledge of English language; additional European languages are a plus.
Advanced Excel skills: experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA preferred) and GA/P2P tools
