On behalf of our client, an international tobacco company, we are looking for an experienced and proactive professional to fill in the following position: Supply Chain Specialist.
The Supply Chain Officer ensures optimal movement of products from factories through warehouses to the exclusive distributor, in compliance with applicable legal regulations, best practices, and marketing planning projections. The role provides all relevant information to key stakeholders to maintain optimal stock levels and product freshness, meeting consumer needs in line with company objectives. The officer actively participates in decision-making forums at the Serbia and Montenegro level, as well as relevant organizational units of the Company. Responsible for managing the team coordinating core logistics processes.
Ensure compliance with regulations on import/export of finished products, excise stamps, customs clearance, and other rules related to the Commercial Business Unit
Comprehensive and timely daily and monthly reporting on stock and sales for Serbia and Montenegro
Compliance with international trade and warehousing regulations for company import/export needs
Ordering, importing, and managing customs formalities for imported cigarettes for the Serbian market
Provide functional and timely support to procurement teams in Belgrade
Actively support indirect procurement processes
Act as tutor/instructor for best practices and procedures in logistics
Manage product and documentation flows related to distributors
Optimize secondary supply chain and costs by applying company’s best practices and identifying opportunities and weaknesses
Analyze demand planning reports/inputs, provide feedback to SP&I team for corrections, and incorporate relevant inputs from reports and market research into decision-making
Control and project stock levels in line with production plans and demand forecasts
Consider excise calendar when projecting stock levels to maximize company financial objectives
Minimize risks of unsold or obsolete stock requiring destruction
Coordinate documentation from Regional Supply Chain Center needed for new product registration
Organize quarterly inventory of imported finished goods with partners and obtain sanitary certificates for product release
Coordinate the complete process of destroying non-compliant products, from documentation to transport and destruction
Prepare packaging waste reports in line with contracts
Ensure compliance with environmental, health & safety (EHS) regulations and group policies
Work in accordance with legal regulations, company rules and procedures related to occupational health and safety, environmental protection, and fire safety
Ensure application of these standards within scope of responsibility and compliance by supervised employees
Implement measures to improve standards in line with company goals for health, safety, and environment
Proactively propose initiatives to enhance workplace safety and environmental protection
Build strong relationships with stakeholders: NPI Team, SPI Team, DRP Team, Financial Accounting, local and regional Supply Chain, company leadership teams, exclusive cigarette distribution partners in Serbia, freight forwarders/warehouses, Ministry of Finance, national printing office, customs authorities
Deliver relevant reports to the company and present timely indicators at forums for effective logistics and supply chain management
Coordinate activities of direct reports to achieve optimal business results
Provide feedback and development plans for direct reports to ensure performance delivery and readiness for promotion to higher pay grades
Qualifications:
Higher education
Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, sales and demand planning, and market research
Strong oral and written knowledge of English
Computer literacy (MS Office – especially Excel, Windows)
Knowledge of SAP system
Strong communication and presentation skills
