On behalf of our client, Stake, we are looking for an experienced and proactive professional to fill in the following position: Legal Councel.

The purpose of this role is to bolster the legal team's capabilities across the Stake business, by providing legal support in areas such as commercial contracting, customer complaints, and due diligence. They will be a proactive self-starter with a solid background in private practice or in-house and the ability to work independently, adapt swiftly to the fast-paced and innovative environment of the digital entertainment industry.

Responsibilities

●      Commercial Contracting: Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a range of commercial contracts essential to the operations of Stake, including but not limited to casino contracts.

●      Legal Advisory: Providing timely and practical legal advice to internal stakeholders across various departments but particularly the customer support team on a range of legal issues, including technology, privacy, and consumer protection.

●      Legal Compliance: Monitoring regulatory developments in the sweepstakes and gambling industries, in conjunction with providing advice on legal compliance matters, and implementing policies and procedures to mitigate relevant legal risks.

●      Advisor to customer support teams: responsible for managing the litigation and customer support legal escalation inboxes/communication channels and advising teams on consumer issues.

Requirements

●      Legal Qualifications: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Law and with admission to practice in a relevant jurisdiction. Relevant certifications in gambling or sweepstakes law are desirable.

●      Private Practice Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience practicing law at a reputable law firm and/or fast-paced in-house environment, with a focus on gambling, and/or corporate and commercial transactions.

●      Commercial Contracting Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in reviewing, drafting, and proactively negotiating commercial contracts, including service agreements and casino provider agreements,

●      Communication and Negotiation Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate legal concepts effectively to non-legal stakeholders. Proven negotiation skills and the ability to influence outcomes while maintaining positive relationships with counterparties.

Project Management Abilities: Experience managing multiple time-sensitive complaints, enquiries, projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks effectively, and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
